AAM Registration

Attendees can register using our convenient self-check-in kiosks near the registration desk in the North Lobby. Pre-Registered Attendees and Exhibitors can scan and pick up their badges at the Badge Pickup Stations in the North Lobby.

Staff will also be available to help with all of your registration needs during official conference hours.

This year’s list of conference attendees can be accessed through the Mobile App.

Scam Warning

It is AAM’s policy to NEVER sell, rent or share attendee email contact information. No company is authorized to distribute or sell any email lists of attendees for our events. AAM is not providing these lists or generating these messages.

How did they get your email address? Software programs can crawl websites in search of email addresses that are listed on them (identifiable by the “@” sign).

If you receive an email offering to sell you a list of AAM conference attendees, do not respond to it. By responding–even with a request to unsubscribe–you confirm that your email address is a valid one, which may increase the likelihood that you’ll be contacted again.

BUYER BEWARE of possible Hotel Fraud: IMN Solutions is the only official housing company for the 2022 AAM Annual Meeting & MuseumExpo. There are “unofficial” companies aggressively pursuing attendees to book hotel rooms through their company at supposedly significant discounts. Unfortunately, in the past some attendees and exhibitors have experienced the following:

  • Lost their significant deposits
  • Been relocated with little or no warning
  • Have not had the guest rooms they thought they had booked
  • Have not received reservations at the hotel they had thought were confirmed

We aim to accommodate the needs of all Annual Meeting & MuseumExpo attendees to ensure the best experience possible. Staff at the AAM Information Desk, located in the North Lobby, and volunteers in teal shirts are on hand to help answer your accessibility questions.

Audio Recordings

There will not be any audio recordings of sessions. The AAM General Session and Keynote presentations will be recorded and made available to attendees after the annual meeting concludes.

Audio and video recording of sessions is strictly prohibited without prior permission from AAM.

Printing & Shipping Center

Parking at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center

Valet Parking:

Valet parking ($30) is available during most events. To access from Summer Street, turn onto East Side Drive and the valet area will be immediately on your right. We accept cash and all major credit cards.

BCEC South Parking Lot:

To self-park in the BCEC South Lot, from Summer Street, turn onto East Side Drive, drive past the valet area, and continue straight along the side of the building. At the end of the building, make a right and go down the ramp. At the bottom of the ramp, turn left and you will see the entrance to the South Parking lot in front of you. Parking rates are $20 for regular sized vehicles and $40 for oversized vehicles.

Please note: Parking is limited at the BCEC and is available on a first come, first served basis. On certain events if the South Lot is full, attendees may be directed to an offsite parking lot.

Alternate Parking:

In the event that onsite parking has reached capacity, additional parking may be available at either the Boston Marine Industrial Park (BMIP) Garage or various parking lots on the Waterfront. All alternate parking lots are on a first come, first served basis and are within walking distance of the BCEC.

Coat and Bag Check is complimentary to AAM attendees.

Self-Care Lounge

Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, Room 203

The self-care lounge offers a quiet space to break for a moment, prayer, or meditation. There will also be space for lactation, with refrigerators, storage, and comfy seating. The Boston Convention & Exhibition Center also has Mamava Nursing Pods placed throughout that offer additional private spaces for lactating mothers.


AAM reserves the right to eject any attendee without any prior notice or refund if their behavior is deemed disruptive, offensive, dangerous, or illegal or if they are found to be distributing unauthorized material.

Emergencies & Public Safety

Boston Convention & Exhibition Center

The Boston Convention & Exhibition Center has an extensive Public Safety team certified by the Department of Homeland Security. For all emergencies, call the Public Safety Command Center IMMEDIATELY. There are Black Telephones located throughout the BCEC. Using the Black Telephones please dial 2222 (Speed Dial Press 2), or from your cell phone dial 617-954-2222. 

This will connect directly to emergency services. The State-of-the-art command and coordination centers serve as a link between event staff and all MCCA departments, with direct access to first responders ensuring the fastest and most appropriate response to any incidents. Please do not dial 911.

EMT/First Aid

Professional medical personnel are on hand throughout the conference to assist with medical emergencies.


Provided presentation slides and handouts will be accessible on the program page and the mobile app.

Lost & Found

Boston Convention & Exhibition Center

All lost and found items should be taken to the Volunteer Office. You may stop by to claim lost items during official conference hours. Unclaimed items will be turned over to Convention Center Public Safety at the end of the conference. The Public Safety property claim area is located in the Command Center at the BCEC. You may arrange a pickup for your claimed item by calling the Command Center at 617-954-2222.

Photography & Video

By registering for and attending the Annual Meeting & MuseumExpo, you grant the American Alliance of Museums (“AAM”) and its authorized representative’s permission to film, photograph, or otherwise record your participation in the event. You further agree that such images, photographs, and recordings may be used by AAM without your prior approval in any form and for any lawful purpose including, without limitation, promoting AAM. Such use will not entitle you to any credit or compensation. You release AAM, its officers, and employees from any liability connected with the use of any image, photograph, or recording taken during the Annual Meeting & MuseumExpo.


All are welcome to use the restroom that is right for them. We ask that no one will be stared at, questioned, or asked to leave. Thank you for helping to make all spaces at AAM inclusive and accessible for everyone.


Attendee safety is important to us. Please have a photo ID on you at all times. Be aware of your surroundings. If you see anything suspicious, report it to AAM staff, volunteers, or building security. More information regarding public safety and emergencies at the Annual Meeting & MuseumExpo can be found in the AAM2022 Mobile App.

Weapons of any type, functional or non-functional, such as firearms, swords, knives, throwing stars, crossbows, clubs, bludgeons, etc. are strictly prohibited within MCCA facilities. The MCCA strictly prohibits all persons from carrying a firearm or other prohibited item while on MCCA property or within a facility under MCCA control, including those persons licensed to carry a firearm. Other prohibited items may include, but are not limited to, illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia, outside alcohol, Tasers or stun guns, and any other item that is deemed to be dangerous or a disruption to MCCA business and events.

This policy applies to all MCCA employees, contractors, temporary employees, clients, exhibitors, visitors, and guests. Only on-duty law enforcement agents who are working on behalf of the MCCA, or those who have been given expressed authorization by the MCCA Director of Public Safety will be permitted to carry a firearm or other prohibited item while on MCCA property.


In order to protect our valued exhibitors and sponsors and the investment they make in AAM and our mission, our rules strictly prohibit solicitation by attendees who transact business at our conference and do NOT have exhibit booths or sponsor investment.

Speaker Ready Room

Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, Room 255

The Speaker Ready Room is where speakers can review their presentations, address session concerns, meet with fellow speakers, and more. Speakers are strongly encouraged to arrive at the Convention Center at least 1 hour prior to the start of their session. Please be sure to check-in at the Speaker Ready Room upon arriving.

Transportation to Evening Events

Buses will pick up and drop off at the Summer Street entrance just outside of the North Lobby where AAM registration is located in the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. Tickets must be presented at boarding and will be collected on-site. Departure times are printed on each ticket. Return drop off’s will be at AAM conference hotels. There will not be shuttle service to and from area hotels to the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. Volunteer Office

All Annual Meeting volunteers are required to check-in at the Volunteer Office prior to their assignment. This office will be staffed during official conference hours.
