This Onsite Insight will use Amazing Horns, Bridging Continents, Bridging Time," the Sheldon's Hartenberger World Music Instrument Collection exhibit of historic horns from five continents and 1,000 years, and its SOLID (Science of Learning Instrument Design) education program to show ways that meaningful connections can be made between visual art and music in a multidisciplinary setting. Included is a tour of the exhibit led by the curator, Dr. Aurelia Hartenberger; an overview of the music education program, which combines visual arts with the STEM disciplines (STEAM); and a hands-on activity to make your own sound sculpture or musical instrument to take away. Coffee, soft drinks, juice, and snacks will be provided at this free event."
