Mark your calendars for #drinkingaboutmuseums at AAM 2017 in St. Louis!

The event will be in the evening on Monday, May 8th. More information to follow soon.

For those new to Drinking About Museums, find a good synopsis by Ed Rodley here: https://exhibitdev.wordpress.com/2013/05/26/on-drinking-about-museums/.

Drinking About Museums is for everyone– from museum CEOs and directors to museum volunteers and interns, and everyone in between. It’s a way to have conversations, share ideas, and spark collaborations with people you might not usually interact with.

Since St. Louis is a beer town, this Drinking About Museums will definitely have a beer focus. Stay tuned for more details, but Liz Garibay of the Chicago Brewseum has a hand in planning it so it’s bound to be good!

If you want to make sure you’re in the loop when we have more details, please email me at kate@exposeyourmuseum.com and I will add you to the contact list.

Join us for our annual mingling event in a relaxed atmosphere. This year we’ll meet at The Over/Under Bar and Grill at 911 Washington Ave. The bar is in an historic building and located a block away from the St. Louis convention center and across the street from the Holiday Inn Hotel and the Courtyard by Mariott. This is a great chance to get to know your fellow HHN members.

Barrett Barrera Projects cordially invites delegates to the 2017 American Alliance of Museums Annual Meeting to a pop-up show featuring select works from the company’s represented artists, as well as the Enchantress gallery from its A Queen Within exhibit, poised to travel internationally in 2018.

    Monday, May 8
    6-8pm
4568 Manchester Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63110

Wine, beer, and light appetizers will be served
    RSVP to liviu@vastari.com.

Works from the following individual artists will be exhibited:
    Fantich & Young

A Queen Within artistically explores nine personality types of a Queen, or metaphorically, a woman: the Sage, Mother, Magician, Enchantress, Explorer, Ruler, Mother Earth, Heroine, and Thespian. The story of each persona, which also forms the themes of the exhibition, is articulated through examples of fashion, photography, film, and artwork.

Private viewings available by appointment. Please contact info@barrettbarrera.com to schedule a time to visit the space.
