Gateways to Understanding: Listening to and Engaging Diverse Audiences in a City of Confluence
Felicia W. Shaw serves at the Executive Director for the Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis (RAC). A native St. Louisan, Felicia brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in the public and nonprofit arts and culture sector. Previously, Felicia served for eight years as Director of Arts and Culture Strategy and Analysis at the San Diego Foundation, where she directed a portfolio of community and civic engagement programs including a fellowship program for creative entrepreneurs, a grant program supporting neighborhood revitalization efforts, an arts-based placemaking and community building initiative, and a leadership training program for early career arts administrators. She currently serves on the boards of Grantmakers in the Arts (GIA), the only national association of both public and private arts and culture funders in the United States; Craft Emergency Relief Fund (CERF+), a national artists’ service organization; and the United States Urban Arts Federation – an alliance of the 60 largest local arts agencies in the country. Locally, she serves on the boards of the Greater St Louis Community Foundation and the Foundation’s Invest STL Leadership Board as well as FOCUS St. Louis.
