Description
Learn the basics of assessing and managing your digital assets. Effective digital asset management saves your organization time and money, and will help preserve institutional memory. This tutorial will provide an overview of digital content and copyright management workflows, starting from acquisition through the use cases of online collections and open access, and include best practices around content storage, access, distribution, rights management, and planning for the future.

Bio
Shyam Oberoi is the Director of Technology and Digital Media at the Dallas Museum of Art, and oversees DMA's IT, website, digital content and app development. He also manages a multi-year project to comprehensively digitize every object in the DMA's collection. Before DMA, Shyam worked at the Met as the General Manager of Collections Information Systems. He has a B.A. in Computer Science from Manhattan College and an M.A. in English from NYU.
