Programs that Connect Visitors and Collections: Treasures from the Vault

Start Day and Time
Wednesday May 10 2-3:30 p.m.
Venue and Meeting Room
Saint Louis Mercantile Library at the University of Missouri
Description

Bus departs America's Center at 1:30 p.m. and returns at 4 p.m. Ticket is required to board bus.

Experience one of the library's most successful program models that delves deep into the collections to engage visitors-the colloquium. Participants will attend two mini-colloquia that expand on our current exhibition Audubon and Beyond." One will feature Audubon's double-elephant folio "Birds of America" and related rare books and prints; the other will explore how Saint Louis and Missouri artists have been inspired by nature to create works that built our region's rich artistic heritage. We will conclude with a group discussion about the benefits, challenges, and logistics of the colloquium format, how sensitive subjects can be addressed, and how other institutions can adapt this program to their needs."
