Description
"A New Museum for a New Century" examines the extensive process of renovation at the National Museum of Colombia to enhance visitor engagement and reinterpret the country's history in addressing difficult subjects after decades of civil strife and conflict. Presenter: Camilo Sanchez, museological advisor, National Museum of Colombia "Reopening the Museum of Islamic Art after Terrorism" details the extensive three year effort to restore and rehabilitate the museum and its collections in the aftermath of damage from a terrorist bombing. Visual artist at the National University of Colombia , MA in museology University of Valladolid, Spain, began his museum work as Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Bogota since 2002. President of ICOM, Chapter Colombia 2008-2011, Vice President of ICOM for Latin America and the Caribbean 2010-2013. Vice Chair Advisory Council ICOM 2016-2019. Member of the Advisory board, Master of Museology UN of Colombia .
